Consumers may be slowing down their spending this year, wearables remain a popular choice as they head back outdoors with a fresh focus on exercise and health.
According to latest IDC worldwide Quarterly wearable device tracker, which notes a 32.3% increase in global wearables shipments in the Q2 2021.

IDC released a report on the global wearable market for the third quarter of 2021. IDC's wearable report includes several types of products: audible devices, smart watches, smart bracelets and others.
Global performance: Watches and bracelets are growing
The data shows that overall global shipments were 138.4 million units, a year-on-year increase of 9.9%. Smartwatch shipments in this quarter surpassed smart bracelets, with a year-on-year growth of 4.3%. The sub-$100 market that used to be dominated by bracelets in the past has now become a 55-to-five split between smartwatches and bracelets.
IDC's report on the wearables market in Q3 of 2021 shows a near 10% increase over the same period last year.
